A Perfect Book of Psalms

Since my husband and I got married, we have been doing the merge of two homes dance. You know how this goes… I have a crockpot, you have a crockpot… my crockpot is newer… sell the old. I have a couch, you have a couch… your couch is nicer… sell mine. One thing that has been fun is the coming together of our books. Daniel doesn’t have too many in his house (not for lack of having books, rather because most at boxed up at his parents’ house) but I came with......

Days like today…

When crisis strikes in Colorado, Israel or really anywhere in the world, my days look like this: Wake up. Learn there is a crisis. Obsessively check Facebook, Twitter, news outlets, any information I can find online (in the case of the November 2012 Israeli engagement it was an awesome blogger giving blow by blow)....

Ever Been Threatened On Your Blog?

Add me to that list. Last year I wrote about a dubious email I received from a Matthew T. Keener of CMO Summits.  You can read the blog post in full here – Marketing Directors Targeted in Scam|Spam. I wrote about how when I tried to learn more about this potential professional development opportunity I hit one road block after another which made me curious about this organization. In the end, I wrote that others had branded this a scam, the IP addresses and emails were marked as spam and though they......

New Facebook Event Images

If you post events to Facebook, you may have noticed that they have changed the format for the images. They haven’t yet allowed you to format you text, which I am patiently waiting for (you hear that FB?! Patiently WAITING!) but they have given you a banner image now which, in my opinion, is much better than the small thumbnail you could not expand. The new banner size is 714×264, however, keep in mind that Facebook like to change these things on a whim and not always tell you. (As I found......

And I’m back!

Hello! I would say sorry for the hiatus but I’m not. We are back from our amazing honeymoon and getting back into the swing of things. I can’t believe it all happened, that we pulled it all off, but man… it feels great to be married! In case you missed it, here is the New York Times article on our engagement. It came out the day we were married… more to come!   Talia Davis, Daniel Haykin Dox Photo By ROSALIE R. RADOMSKY Published: March 10, 2013 Small Garden, Big Yield: A......

Tis the Season (to get sick)

I always welcome the cold weather with trepidation. The seasons change and it is beautiful and all… but with the cold weather we welcome colds and the flu. Funny thing is, when I used to work for Ballet Nouveau, I used to get sick ALL THE TIME. I was around little ballerinas all day… little ballerinas with the sniffles who didn’t always wash their hands… And thus… I would get sick every year… several times a season. Now don’t get me wrong… I wash my hands. But maybe not always for long......

The Perfect Ahhhh

I was frantic. Crummy few weeks at work, working too hard on two huge events. I was stressed to near tears. Then my friend ‘D’ called me. “Hey little sister! I have something I want you to try.” “Grumble, grumble, grumble, I need a drink… grumble” – was my approximate response. “Never mind, I’m coming by your work to drop it off.” “Grumble, grumble, grumble” Click. She dropped off a CUTE little care package with the only thing better than a bottle of wine… chocolate! Chocolate for your Chakras, no less. She......

Best Email Signature Program

I have totally fallen for WiseStamp in the past year. I love using it to sign my emails. It feeds my social media obsession and allows more customization than GMail. Imagine my horror when my WiseStamp wouldn’t show up in GMail’s new compose new mail interface!!! (it is great by the way, i really like what they have done… except…) Thankfully, WiseStamp addressed it here on their blog – http://help.wisestamp.com/troubleshooting/wisestamp-isnt-working-with-the-new-gmail-compose-and-gmail-reply Well… it isn’t perfect (telling you to switch back to the old email interface) but it will do for now until they......

Fair Trade Coffee Goodness!

I received a box of some free k-cups to try the other day. I was SUPER excited since I A. LOVE using the Keurig machine at work and B. was running out of my regular coffee cups. 🙂 So these were from Green Mountain. It was a selection of their fair trade coffee and OMG they were so good!!! Really great flavors. I had the Vermont Country Blend, Colombian Fair Trade Select, Sumatran Reserve, and Wild Mountain Blueberry. I can’t say the blueberry was my favorite but frankly, they were all pretty......
